Mirik
A lake, orange orchards and an easy half-day stop
About Mirik
Mirik is built around Sumendu Lake, with a footbridge across the middle and a path all the way round. It is low-key by design: boating, horse rides, tea gardens on the slopes above, and orange orchards on the way in.
Most travellers pick it up as a stop on the Siliguri-Darjeeling drive, though it also works as a quiet overnight if you want an unhurried first day in the hills.
